ABOUT The founder /
Lauren Yates is the one-woman-army behind Ponytail Journal, a blog that feeds on the goodness in life, focusing on style, food, and travel. She is known by many for her boyish smart-casual style that she playfully coins as W’Menswear, along with her passion for adventure. That’s why you’ll see clips of her cooking South East Asian dishes in rural Thailand, or featuring great textiles from minority groups on the way.
Lauren’s slogan ‘funnest life possible’ seems to say it all. She is named as ‘The Hottest Thing in Menswear’ by GQ Magazine, ‘People to know‘ on Rawr Denim, third top Aussie standout by US Vogue, style gender-bender by W Magazine, one of Conde Nast Traveller‘s favourite bloggers, a Nylon Magazine ‘IT-girl’, and her Instagram is listed in online menswear heavyweight Mr. Porter‘s top ten favourite Instagram accounts worldwide. Lauren has established a unique voice through Ponytail Journal that her all-embracing readership can relate to, as well as a line of clothing that has transformed pixels into reality. It’s very much her Universe.
When she’s not fishing for her dinner, surfing the Aussie coastline, shooting editorial in Seoul, styling tables in the French countryside, or cooking in rural Thailand, she hunts for vintage inspiration from flea markets around the globe and snaps people who motivate her by their rad style.
