In my life, there is always space for more vintage. Whether I’m travelling or at home, the weekend is usually spent scouring through flea markets and op shops in search for an inspiring piece that speaks to me. Great clothes always deserve a second, third, fourth, and fifth life. Trends may change, but great pieces will always stand timeless.
Summertime is all about super soft fabrics, colourful prints, vintage sports club artifacts, worn out denim, and of course I would never miss the opportunity to celebrate warmth with a brilliant Hawaiian print. To me, summer should really be a colourful party, and it’s definitely time to bring out a crazy print as well as some wild accessories. What can I say, I’m one hell of a romantic!
Being nostalgic definitely doesn’t mean you have to look throw-back at the same time. It’s all about how you style your looks to bring the past into the present. For me, it means taking a very contemporary approach to styling vintage pieces – some of which have been with me for years. Carving out your own mix will set you apart (the good kind of apart) because why follow the flock when you have the freedom do what you want?
Curious about why everyone is wearing their shirt off their shoulders on the internet? Why not give it a try with your boyfriend’s shirt! If you’re me, you might learn your lesson the hard way by getting caught in a few door handles, but the moral of the story is that we don’t know until we try.
