“Diesel Fueled Defiance” is inspired by women on the forefront of car racing during the civil rights movements of the 60s, when an increasingly virulent sentiment toward women was under way. These women would do whatever it took for the taste of adventure that racing cars brought to their lives.
Janet Guthrie and Pat Moss-Carlsson were two pioneering female race-car drivers in the 1960s. Watch our video below where founder Lauren discusses how their efforts for female advancements in international car racing became the driving forces in our design work.
