A warm welcome to my second female #funnestlifepossible candidate, singer, artist, smarty pants, and just plain ball ‘o goodness, Note P. It’s been completely unintentional that there’s been more men than women on this portion of Ponytail Journal, but back to Note: I met her in person not so long ago at an exhibition opening in Bangkok. We had already been following each other on instagram, but to meet in the flesh unexpectedly, fan-girl to fan-girl was a surreal moment. I say it was surreal because A) it was quite a Post-Modern show and there were lots of colourful lights and experimental music at play, but B) there was an unspoken respect for each other’s knack for finding and sharing goodness. The more time I spend with her, the more I can see that she’s definitely do-it-yourself kinda gal, with so much talent for spotting the underrated specialties that life brings us. If this doesn’t make her PTJ material, then I’m not sure who else would.
A pop-singer by trade with a free spirit and a switched on mind, Note lives the life of a ‘somebody’ while secretly dreaming of a parallel reality, flipping burgers at a drive through. She is a super understated young lady, who doesn’t take life too seriously (a good quality in my books) and also shares a love for food that was sparked by a year living in Italy. It’s this memory that keeps her cooking Nonna-food at home in Bangkok to remind her of those tastes and smells that essentially represent a sense of freedom. This liberation is the idea of being a tiny ant on its own, exploring our vast world. I am also excited tell you that Note plans to set up a food truck in Bangkok’s city centre, serving simple food to hungry people. I can’t wait to see it pan out, pun intended. The project is called ‘What The Food’ and it puts her brilliant sensory skills to good use. Keen as I am? Just watch this space [another little insight into her playful and creative head.]
Note’s roots growing up in the lush and mountainous terrain of Northern Thailand gives her an earthiness that, to me, sets her apart from the crowd. This earthiness is why her human qualities dictate her decisions and choices, and is what keeps her in line on a very windy path. It’s this earthiness that tells me she will always stay true to herself on that long and daunting pathway through fame and popularity. Being around Note, I’m reminded of some simple yet important values like keeping your bare feet in touch with plain dirt, not being afraid to roll your sleeves up ‘n give something new a try, as well as having a good eye for sifting out the shiny shells from the odd ones (that are usually more interesting with their weird, rough edges).
I look forward to her new music project, ‘The Krrrrr‘, that embodies all of these values in audible form [a new sound for Note to be presenting to the big bad world]. She’s just a big ball of good energy. Enough from me, I want her interview to do the talking!
#FUNNESTLIFEPOSSIBLE NOTES:

Q/ Describe WHAT YOU DO as if you were talking to a five-year-old.
I sing & make music for people to listen to. I’m also a student studying art. I’m also a gypsy and a mermaid and I own the world’s smartest ferret.
Q/ Tell us how you slipped into MUSIC.
When my mom was pregnant with me, somebody told her that if she put headphones with music on her belly the baby will turn out smart. So she did but instead of it turning off after 1-2 hours, she fell asleep & left it on for the whole day. That’s why I <3 music!
Q/ What did you have for BREAKFAST this morning / What do you wish you had for BREAKFAST this morning?
A bag of potato chips 🙁 – What I had
A tuna pesto panino & egg benedict – I wish

Q/ Draw us a picture of NOTE STYLE.
[She elegantly illustrates a picture of a long haired girl who’s face is masked by her luscious locks. All you really see is an arm popping out that’s shaded with a striped t-shirt sleeve. A sketch by an arty farty art school student indeed… She is the first of my interviewees who put pencil straight to paper without drawing-anxiety or hesitation.]
Q/ What is a typical SUNDAY in your world?
Everyday can be a Sunday for me.
Sunday = sleep / eat / sleep / eat / poop / sleep / eat [cheeky face]
