As we experience time exponentially, it seems to speed past without any notice. Let’s backtrack to February last year when we saw the first Beams store opening in the EmQuartier district, just right bang in the middle of Bangkok’s Sukhumvit where you’ll find an independent community of Japanese retail and dining – pockets of respite from the chaotic city. A year has gone and we’re preparing yet again to welcome another Beams store in the most happening shopping destinations of the country. Feel’s like a wink.
So what about Bangkok makes it such a hungry breeding ground for a retailer like Beams, that promotes individuality and a more inconspicuous idea of luxury in a shopping landscape saturated by opulence? Perhaps its a new kind of Thai customer that embraces a sense of ‘being’ over the need to have that thousand dollar vinyl handbag. Or maybe their infectious romance with Korean pop-culture has finally exhausted itself, scanning back to Japan for inspiration and culture?
Explore the curious concept with us as we watch the goodness blossom. We look forward to seeing you at the store opening this Thursday at Siam Paragon. From 6.30 onwards, dinner suit strongly recommended if you’re Jack Donaghy.
