What’s to come at The Brooklyn Circus this fall are some kicks that will put up a meaty fight to canvas shoe category, with that great BKc promise to rep the history books in all American style. The latest collaboration by PF flyers and Ouigi Theodore brings a flexible yet solid hunk of vulcanised rubber and duck canvas to the table. Of course they look classically sporty, think of the timeless PF Flyers basketball shoe, but I’ll vouch that they actually feel so too. Somehow, I was laced into these bouncy pups that sprung the spring in my step, but more importantly I enjoyed how Ouigi has managed to embody the spirit of The Brooklyn Circus into a shoe. It takes a really thoughtful person with skilful eye to edit something so well that people can understand what it’s about without too much thought. I take my hat off to whoever can.
