Yo yo yo! A brand new year with lots of exciting things in store (blah blah blah…) yes, of course I’m excited about this completely empty canvas of a year, but I’m sure you’ve heard this schpeel a thousand times from a thousand other people. It’s true, a new year comes a new ball of potential, but for a lot of you (me included) time exists as this continuous thing that doesn’t really get wiped clean as the clock strikes midnight on the last day of the year. I do like the idea of starting fresh, with a good set of intentions in your mind for yourself and how you would like to improve on certain things you could do better on. In actual fact, I have had a pretty clear map of what my life looks like for the next quarter of the year for a while now. Is this called being grown up?

I believe that this concept of getting older and ‘growing up’ doesn’t apply to all of us. I know plenty of old-youngesters and young-oldsters to understand that ageing is more apparent when we change the way we think and see things. I once often asked myself when that big puff of smoke would appear, that transformed the childish and VERY silly me into a serious me, but that poof of smoke never came. I was waiting around for it for so long that I’m convinced it either skipped me by clerical error, or that it possibly doesn’t exist. They say we model ourselves from what we know, as in we do things like our elders no matter how much we hate these habits or attitudes, so I guess I could say that I absorbed some magical age-smoke defying powers from my grandma who still gets up to much mischief and laughs her head off to Tom & Jerry.

So what’s in store for PTJ this year? Expect more silly business, more exploring, and a lot more deliciousness. This year I intend to re-discover the world around me in all of its weird and wonderful detail. PS Yesterday I found a camo moth in my garden. COOOOOOOOL. (Check it out on the PTJ Instagram).
