I love my job. I love it so much, I wanna take it behind the middle school and make out with it. (Yes, I watch a little too much 30 Rock for my own good probably). But in all seriousness, I love my job because I have complete creative control over it, and this means I can share my favourite things with you special people in the way that I intended. With experience I’ve found that sometimes a vision can be twisted or confused by simple communication issues unless you have a very special bunch of people who share your dream. I like to think these people exist and I’m slowly forming my own dream team for Ponytail Journal, but this takes time and patience, so for now I do most things myself.
This is why everything you experience on Ponytail Journal is all that I intend for you to see, hear, read, and hopefully feel. In my busy life with its ever growing daily to-do list, if something doesn’t feel right, then I probably won’t publish it because it generally feels forced, and I know you guys have a keen sense for things like that. Nowadays the things I work on, as well as the editorial that I style, shoot, process, and publish has to feel one hundred percent ‘right’.
So, here is more ‘right’. My Tropical mix-tape: a collection of things that I’ve plucked from around the globe, with a model who is not only my pal (aka Patty, that drop dead G Brazilian-Japanese lady below) but understands my wish for a fun work environment with lots of delicious snacks. I give you four frames of goodness, curated by me, worn on two people who combined, come from more than four different corners of the earth. Represent.
