As a designer, cook, gardener, skater, surfer, and someone who loves being active, Lauren loves to look back into history to root myself in the origins of ’how stuff came about’. Fascinated about ’why’ and ’how’ things came to be rather than following ephemeral trends for now reason, she designs by looking at how goodness in life came to be. Presenting a study of workwear, sportswear, and heritage garments, all of which inspire for next winter.

In the Ponytail space, we are over the moon to hear news of mindfulness taking root in the garment industry. Our friends at Heddels have shared a recent video they made about their visit to a ’post-consumer-waste’ recycling plant in Karachi, Pakistan, that transforms used denim jeans into new cotton fibers.

Spring Summer 2018 is a milestone for our friend Nigel Cabourn who is celebrating not only the birth of a new design concept to his body of work, but also 50 years since he started fashion school in 1967 where his life long career and passion kicked off. The context of 1967 plays an incredible role in the domino of events that brought Nigel to where he is now, and in terms of political and cultural impact there are so many factors that played in his pathway.
