There’s no messing around when it comes to a good tee shirt. These things are becoming a bit like white rhinos in this day and age because ‘stuff’ is becoming cheaper and being produced in vast quantities. Maybe this is why I am such a sucker for old stuff, because it tames my anxiety catalysed by such a fast paced world. Asides from my flat chested-ness and broad shoulders, I find myself wearing mens plain tees because most classic brands were always made for men. These are tees like Velva Sheen who have been making ’em the same way since 1938, or Asian heritage brands that I stumble across on this side of the world, or when they are tossed over to me from my pal Joe who lives and breathes menswear over in Hong Kong. Not only do these fit me really well, but they are constructed with an acknowledgement that they will be a wardrobe staple. This consideration means that the tees are made with the best materials, reinforced where needed, and keep their shape until the end. These are my most worn item of clothing, the workhorse, and simple goodness is what keeps me so in love with the Universe.
Today I’m being loved by an Engineered Garments tee, that is the draft horse of the tee world. Just as well because I’m busy running around Bangkok like a chicken with no head getting things in order for a new line of PTJ Supplies goods on the way for you all. It’s an exciting time, especially when you’re working on a line of stuff that serve as supplies for the funnest life possible.
