If you’ve been following the PTJ Instagram or Snapchat, you might have noticed me tinkering around sourcing textiles and hardware for a line of clothing. Yes folks, Ponytail Journal is branching out and we’re super excited to announce that we’ll be producing our own line of W’Menswear with denim tailor Ben Viapiana. The aim of the game is ultimately to bring y’all some real fun threads that will serve you well while on your way. It’s workwear for the funnest life possible, and guess what ladies! It’s all for you!
For our very first collection, we’re exploring the realm of fishing (a no brainer for a first line by PTJ) so that means that our patterns, shapes, textiles, and finishings are inspired by this great means to living. Expect stone washed heavy canvases ranging between 11 and 16 ounce, oxidised copper hardware, and without giving too much away, I’ll just say that I’ve found some great deadstock fishing net to play with. It’s early days yet, but Ben has been working hard in his denim cave (where he keeps his really great collection of sewing machinery) to make first samples so that I can run away and damage, I mean… customize them the best I can – my part is a little too fun.
It’s already looking to be a full range that will cover your head to your ankles, and all the functionality a gal needs. Newness keeps me excited about life, and this kind of newness makes me look forward to the future.
Stay in tune on the w’menswear Instagram!
